No Way Jose!
When Jose Canseco’s new book comes out there will be one name nowhere listed. Canseco’s co-author, Don Yaeger has pulled away from the project, according to Foxsports.com . Yaeger reportedly didn’t think that there was enough substance for a book, and was quoted as saying that Canseco, “certainly doesn’t have what he claims to have on A-Rod”.
Canseco has been pushing that he can link Rodriguez with steroid use and stated that he was surprised A-Rod’s name was not mentioned in the Mitchell Report. Canseco came under scrutiny when his first book came out and has since been able to watch while many of the names mentioned in his book have been brought out of the shadows and had the light of public scrutiny shined on their heads. Despite their claims prior to Canseco’s books release there were threats of lawsuits, but oddly enough none of these threats were followed up on and Canseco came out looking like John the Baptist. This book feels different though. This book will more than likely just be alot of “ha-ha, I told you and no one believed me” kind of thing. Also, there is the hint that he is trying to settle a person grudge with A-Rod, as I doubt very seriously that Canseco is smart enough to have saved that kind of information for a sequel. And before we give credit to Canseco for shining the light on steroids, remember that he only did it to make a buck and to get back at a sport that he felt had blacklisted him from playing. If Canseco had still been able to play his book wouldn’t have been written. Also, let’s not forget that this is a guy who thinks that steroids are okay and credits them with making it possible for his baseball career. Canseco was fine for shedding information on the issue of steroids in baseball, but it can’t be forgotten that he is a part of the problem, not a part of the solution.
