Old People Rule! Juan Gonzalez Tries Out With Cards
Apparently Julio Franco was busy.
According to Fox Sports the St. Louis Cardinals offered 38 year-old Juan Gonzalez a shot at making the team in spring training. Juanny was told to bring his bat, glove, and cane to Florida for the Cardinal’s training camp. Juan has not played since 2003 fueling speculation that he was dead and that no one cared. That information was half-wrong.
This is kind of a good community service by the Cardinals; you know, the way grocery stores hire old people to bag groceries so that they don’t get bored and swallow all their medication. That’’s probably what this is.
