Knight’s Over
Bobby Knight quit yesterday. In the middle of the season. He handed the reins to Texas Tech’s basketball program to his son Pat. He said it was so that his son would have half a season to adjust. Well, that’s awful nice for him and his son. Kind of sucks for the players though. Or maybe not. Maybe now they can get through practice without being choked, having a chair thrown at them or being called little ****************************ckers over and over. Hell, on second thought don’t be surprised if there are parties all over Texas.
Still though, this is a selfish decision. If Knight didn’t have any health problems like he says he hasn’t, he owed it to the kid’s that he recruited to finish the season. But then again, expecting Bob Knight to do the right thing is like expecting Christmas to come in July, you can look for it all you want but it ain’t gonna happen anytime soon. Knight is as guilty as any athlete of proving one thing; if you have a talent for something, you can have as many chances as you need to get your act together, no matter what you do. And don’t be surprised if he’s not really done and pops up somewhere else in the next two or three years. What else is he gonna do? Greeter at Wal-Mart? Yeah that’d be great. “Can I look in your bag f***face? Don’t make me hit you with this f’n chair! I’ll choke the life right out of you, you bastard…post up dammit!”
