Floyd Mayweather Is At It Again
Floyd Mayweather appeared at WWE pay-per-view last night and started what appears to be a wrestling storyline that will culminate in Mayweather facing, the 500lb giant known as “The Big Show” at Wrestlemania.
According to WWE.com:
Considered by many to be the best pound-for-pound boxer in the world today, Mayweather sat at ringside enjoying No Way Out and Rey’s bid for the title before Big Show began taunting him. The boxing champion learned quickly that trying to inflict pain upon the former WWE, WCW and ECW Champion is not an easy task. Big Show may have been bloodied by the left hook of Mayweather, but the incensed giant gave chase as Mayweather quickly retreated with his entourage in tow.
Before people start jumping on Mayweather for getting involved with WWE, you have to give him credit; in a sports world where boxing is pretty much irrelevant, Mayweather is constantly coming up with new ways to get publicity and to keep himself famous and talked-about. First he appears on Dances With The Stars, now he’s going to be a big part of the sport’s world’s equivalent of Barnum and Bailey’s Greatest Show on Earth. Mayweather never met a fight, a camera, or a storyline that he didn’t like, and this spectacle makes perfect sense. Hell, I wouldn’t be surprised if Mayweather decided to fight a bear during halftime of next year’s Super Bowl.
