Amazing Talent He Is; Amazing Kreskin, Beasley’s Not
Michael Beasley of Kansas State is a stud. Beasley has incredible talent, and he will probably be looking at a fat load of money when the NBA draft rolls around, but he should probably leave the victory predictions alone from now on-due to the intense, 88-74, beat-down that his K-State Wildcats received Saturday night at the hands of the Kansas Jayhawks.
Beasley, of course; had the following quote after K-State beat Kansas earlier this year:
“We’re going to beat Kansas at home. We’re going to beat them in their house. We’re going to beat them in Africa. Wherever we play, we’re going to beat them.”
Somebody forgot to tell Kansas that they weren’t supposed to show up. Beasley played a very good game, scoring 39 points, but he got almost no help from his teammates, who for most of the game, looked like they were content to just watch Beasley play one-on-five with the Jayhawks. I think I saw one of them with an Xbox controller in his hands, and another one reading a comic book. Kansas got out of the box early, and not only did they leave the Wildcats searching for their teeth after the game, they left Beasley as the latest athlete to get a guarantee of victory shoved back into their face.
This reminds me of the time when I was sixteen and I predicted that I would get laid by the time that I was thirty. So trust me Michael, I know how it feels to be wrong.
