NASCAR And Naming Gophers
Not sure about this one, but I guess there was a competition to name the NASCAR on Fox mascot, which is apparently, a gopher. Of course, it brought out the cream of the creativity crop, and in a bright, blinding, moment of inspiration someone came up with the winning name, according to FOX:
Thank you to all the fans who helped name the NASCAR on FOX gopher. After looking through tens of thousands of suggestions, the name Digger was selected.
Digger. Because gophers dig.
Tens of thousands, you say? Damn, NASCAR fans, you couldn’t put your Shakespeare down long enough to send in something better than Digger? But, then again, it must be really tough to name a gopher. I’ve had to name a few beavers in my time, but I’ve never run across a nameless gopher. Therefore; I shall reserve further judgement until the time comes when I am called upon to give a gopher a name.
Oh; by the way, Carl Edwards won the Las Vegas race on Sunday. Yay backflips.
