Butch Harmon Dumps John Daly For Not Being a Serious Golfer
He was aware that it was John Daly that he was dealing with right? Apparently not, since Butch Harmon has cut all ties with Daly. Why? Because Harmon says that Daly is more interested in items (getting drunk, screwing) other than golfing. According to the article on Fox:
My whole goal for him was he’s got to show me golf is the most important thing in his life,” Harmon said from his golf school in Las Vegas. “And the most important thing in his life is getting drunk.”
JD is a drinker? Fan me with a brick. The guys initials are JD for a reason and it’s not necessarily because of his name, okay? Harmon continued:
“He would work hard and get better, but when things don’t go right, it’s back to the alcohol stuff,” Harmon said. “I love this kid. He’s a tremendous talent. But if he’s not going to give 100 percent effort, it’s a waste of my time.”
But it was his behavior at Innisbrook that set off Harmon.
“You don’t see guys who are any good doing that,” he said. “All the guys I work with are working their (tails) off. John didn’t have it. I like the kid, but he’s got to get his head on straight. The partying and other shenanigans, if that’s the way he wants to be, I don’t choose to be a part of it.”
Shenanigans? You mean there were leprechauns and a broom involved? That is some weird shit. This old man must have been cracked, if he thought for a second that Daly could be serious about anything other than strippers, PBR, cigarettes, and that next Larry the Cable Guy movie.
Harmon used to work with Tiger Woods. He should have known that Daly is absolutely the opposite of Tiger in every way possible. I think that if you looked up Tiger Woods in the dictionary it would have John Daly listed under antonyms. Woods is serious, focused, and disciplined. Daly is…
