WNBA Coach Gets Fired After Claims Of Sexual Harassment In Organization
Okay, this article is very, very vague, but Fox says that Chicago Sky Coach and General Manager Bo Overton resigned from coaching the Sparks very soon after team president Margaret Stender began investigating claims of sexual harassment with the Sky organization. The article says that claims against Overton were first made on an Internet message board:
In a message she posted on the team’s Internet message board Monday, Stender had asked for help in investigating any acts of sexual harassment involving the team.
The request came after an anonymous message thread alleging Overton had harassed some players last season was posted on the Sky’s message board March 7.
Not saying that he did it, but his timing sure makes him look guilty as hell. If he did do it, how dumb do you have to be to sexual harass (allegedly) a team full of women, when your boss is a woman. If he did do it, Overton’s lucky they let him leave without cutting his testicles off and sticking them in the trophy case.
What’s really bad is I had absolutely no idea who the Chicago Sky were when I read this story. I had no idea that they were a WNBA team until I got to the end of the article. But I’m sure that it’ll catch on sooner or later, it’s only been going on for a couple of years now, right? What? It’s been going on for 10 years? Damn. Okay forget that whole catching on part.
