Roy Jones And Joe Frazier To Be On ‘Secret Talents Of The Stars’
Just go ahead and shoot me now. CBS’ latest brainchild to try to tap in the whole “Dancing With the Stars” market is to be called “Secret Talents of the Stars”.
Each week, the celebrities featured will compete in a tournament-style format to determine who has the best hidden talent among them.
What does this have to do with sports you may ask? Well I may answer. Just as “Dancing With the Stars” has had athletes show off their footwork, or lack thereof, this show will also have a few friends from the world of sports, including Roy Jones and Joe Frazier. Frazier will be (wait for it….there) performing R&B and Jones will be doing his 50 Cent impersonation as he gets his rap on. And don’t forget Ric Flair will be salsa dancing. I’m not making that up. That’s legit. WHOOOOOOOOO! Other titillating acts will include:
-Country singer Clint Black performing stand-up comedy
- Former Star Trek actor George Takei crooning as a country singer
- Former The Cosby Show actor Malcom-Jamal Warner performing an original song on bass guitar as part of a Hip Hop Orchestra
Okay Joe and Roy. You guys are former WORLD champions. Damn it Joe, you were a champ when it meant something’ and I could give a damn what anyone else thinks, but Roy Jones Jr. may have been the purest boxer that I have seen in his prime, during my lifetime. You two are freaking legends, and you’re on a show where Theo is going to get down with a Hip Hop Orchestra. Great. All of my childhood sports heroes are absolutely defiling themselves on TV for a quick buck. The day that I flip on “Gone Country” and Derek Jeter is on there singing “Achy Breaky Heart” is the day that I never watch sports again. Period.
