Charles Barkley On Republicans And “Fake” Christians
This is about a month or two old, but I’d never seen it so there. Now that the disclaimer is out of the way, if I were going to let an athlete or former athlete tell me how to vote, it would probably be the “Round Mound of Rebound”. Barkley talks about his support for Barack Obama, goes off on Republicans and “Fake” Christians, and announces his intentions to run for governor of Alabama in 2014.
I’m normally not big on entertainers mixing politics and entertainments, and whoever Barkley votes for is really his own business, but I would recommend to anyone Barkley’s book, Who’s Afraid of a Large Black Man , which was written with Mike Wilbon and is a great look at racism in the United States and what can be done to destroy it. It has interviews with Tiger Woods, Morgan Freeman, and Sam Jackson among others. The book came out in 2004 and I just got around to reading it and I was really blown away by how good it was.
And I’m not saying that just because I’m afraid that Barkley will throw me out of a window (well, not just because).
