The NBA Playoffs: Where Upsets Happen
For one game anyways.
The Atlanta Hawks showed up tonight to play and put the Celtics down a notch, with a 102-93 win over the men in green. Rookie Al Horford must have thought that he was still winning national titles at Florida with the way that he was jawing at Paul Pierce. Nice win, but you’re still the Hawks, and this win probably will just focus the Bostonians into wiping you right out of the playoffs. But hey, at least you’re not the Nuggets.
In the late, late game, I was left hoping that neither one of these teams makes it to the NBA Finals, because the Rockets and the Jazz both play remote control basketball. But, in the end it was the Jazz taking a 3-1 series lead over T-Mac and the Rockets, who will likely win one more game before going gently into that dark night. The Jazz won 86-82, in a game that often felt like eons were passing between baskets. Defense may win championships, but it sure as hell doesn’t keep you awake after midnight.
