This Doesn’t Help Cedric Benson’s Case
Remember a few weeks ago when Cedric Benson got arrested for drinking on his boat and was then jacked up by the police, and said that he was innocent? No, then click here and come back to me.
Back? Okay, good. Well, Benson was arrested Saturday on suspicion of driving under the influence. According to the Chicago Tribune:
Benson, 25, was stopped by police at about 3 a.m. after allegedly running a red light about a block from a restaurant where he had eaten, police said. Benson’s attorney said Benson was having a late dinner with his girlfriend and had two or three alcoholic drinks. He was arrested and charged without incident.
Although Benson and his attorneys are denying that he was drunk; he refused to take a Breathalyzer test, and that’s something that most people refuse when they’re sober and don’t have anything to hide. Benson was stopped after running a red light (something that sober people are always doing…sarcasm):
Bassett said Benson did not run the red light and insisted his client performed well on the field sobriety tests, which he said was video-recorded and will exonerate him when made public.
“Those who assisted him for me at the jail only two or three hours after his arrest tell me they believe he was not intoxicated,” Bassett said in an e-mail interview with the Tribune. “The good news is there will be a tape of the tests for us all to see.”
Let’s see…it was the police’s fault when Benson was busted on the boat, and it was the police’s fault when he was pulled over for drunk driving; I’m starting to see a trend here. The police must really hate Cedric. They must have big meetings, pass out his picture, and plot ways to destroy his career.
They really shouldn’t go through all of the trouble. The fact that he has no speed, can’t take a tackle, and couldn’t find a open hole in a whorehouse, will take care of his career soon enough. Also, is there anyone else besides me who thinks that this guy is surrounded by more enablers than I was by Asian prostitutes this weekend?
I didn’t think so.
