WNBA Fight
While it’s not a Milka/Danica sexy, make you feel all good inside, kind of a fight, it’s at least something interesting to discuss when talking about the WNBA, right? And as with all things WNBA related, the only time that it can be discussed is when talking about the greatness of one Candace Parker who showed that she can scrap and score:
The game turned ugly in the final seconds as a collision between Parker and Detroit’s Plenette Pierson turned into a shoving match that saw players and coaches from both teams leave the bench.
Shock assistant coach Rick Mahorn, who was involved in the Pistons-Pacers brawl on Nov. 19, 2004, as a Detroit broadcaster trying to break up the fight, appeared to shove Lisa Leslie to the floor at one point.
Parker, Milton-Jones, Pierson and Mahorn were all ejected, while Detroit’s Cheryl Ford left the floor on a wheelchair after getting injured while trying to restrain Pierson.
You know Detroit has issues when a fight breaks out during a WNBA game. I’m pretty sure that it’s just something about the arena. You could pack two teams of nuns in there to play bridge and I’m pretty sure that one side would want to start some static. Plus, this just proves my basketball thesis correct. What thesis is that you might ask? It’s the “Rick Mahorn is bad for the NBA” thesis.
Because Rick Mahorn hates sunshine, babies, and clean air.
While this fight wasn’t Ron Artest into the crowd good; if video comes up I’ll post it, because in the words of Chris Tucker, “I ain’t got s### else to do”.
Man.
As promised. Via On221:
Any comments about Rick Mahorn or his like/dislike of small humans was meant merely in jest, a fact that I’m sure was picked up by the majority of people reading this post. Now, back to regularly scheduled programming.

Although I will agree that what happened this evening is a shame. Your comments are surely over the edge. If you want to state that the situation was in bad judgement on everyones part is one thing. To attack Rick Mahorn personally is overkill. I found your article by searching in an engine. Mahorn is a father, to imply that he hates babies makes me sick to my stomach, his children can easily find your undocumented insulting statements. Who are you to make such claims when your article is equally in poor taste and judgement. Report the news, don’t embellish it. That is not good reporting. Incase you don’t know the definition of “embellish” I have supplied it for you.
embellish: to enhance (a statement or narrative ) with fictitious additions.

Bro (or sis) it’s a joke. Get over it. If anyone thinks that I really believe Rick Mahorn hates babies I feel sorry for their lack of a sense of humor. And I make no claims to being a reporter. This is a humor site, if you don’t like it that’s fine, I’m sure that you’ll find somewhere else to be troublesome. Plus if I had wanted to attack Rick Mahorn I might have made reference to him SHOVING a woman. But hey, I guess all family men do that, don’t they?

Yo, that fight tonight was crazy. I’ve never seen a WNBA fight before, so when it happened I was shocked. I actually was watching the game live on ESPN2 when it happened. Just when I thought the game was pretty much over, Parker and Pierson start going at it with each other. My eyes were glued to the television for the rest of the game. I even went to go get my brother so that he could see what was going on. And he was just as surprised.
From looking at the replay over and over again, I still can’t really decide who started and instigated the fight between Parker and Pierson. I don’t think that the box out by Pierson was that bad, and I think that Candace let her emotions get to her right then. However, I think Pierson was really out of line to walk over to Candace with her hands balled up in fists, yelling at her like she was about to beat the crap out of her. And at that moment Parker had every right to throw Pierson to the ground and throw a punch at her. It’s a shame that a player who has been in the WNBA for multiple years would go after a rookie like that.
I also think that Mahorn should be suspended along with the players. Whether or not he intentionally pushed Lisa Lesie to the ground, the fact is that he still did. And he embarrassed her not only on national television, but also right in front of her young daughter who was at the game. And what I don’t understand is why he was going after Leslie instead of all the other players. Leslie didn’t punch, shove, or tackle anybody. He should’ve went after one of his own players such as Pierson, who was going so crazy that she ended up injuring one of her own teammates.

I’ll be really surprised if Mahorn doesn’t get suspended. I think Pierson is most to blame in this, she was clearly out of line.
I wrote about this topic today as well:

Chick basketball sucks. Rick Mahorn is a douche. And there’s no embellishment involved there.
And in case you don’t know…
douche: a word to describe an individual who has shown themself to be very brainless in one way or another, thus comparing them to the cleansing product for vaginas.

They shoulda let the sluts fight it out. They should scratch and claw more and tear each others clothes.

Candace Parker has been a dirty player since the Lady Vols and Pat Summit. She frequently pulls the other teams players down and tries to get the foul called on the other player. She tried it with a player who over-reacted. Her little miss innocent act is getting old!!!! She is not a good example for any of my girls. In fact, I should show the video to demonstrate what a crappy player does to cheat and win!
