Whiffer of the Week
This week’s winner of the Whiffer Award for the biggest loser of the week is:
THE BCS
Why? Because a one-loss Ohio State team who played no one of any consequence will get to play in the “unofficial” National Championship game and will once again have the chance to be embarrassed on national television.
Why? Because there was a chance that a Georgia team that did not win it’s conference or even it’s division was a possibility to play in the title game.
Why? Because the Kansas Jayhawks will play in a BCS bowl instead of the team that beat them and that until last night was the number 1 team in the country, Missouri.
Why? Hawaii is getting rewarded for playing cupcakes and never leaving the island by receiving a BCS bowl bid.
Why? Because it’s not a playoff that’s why. Congratulations BCS on being the Whiffer of the Week, your prize is just what you have contributed to college football; nothing at all.
