First off if you’re not reading Jason Whitlock, you should be.  While I don’t always agree with what Whitlock says he’s not afraid to ruffle feathers and to say what’s on his mind.  In his article on FoxSports.com this week Whitlock had this to say about Dana Jacobson’s suspension from ESPN:

The second-best thing about Jacobson’s rant is that it drew attention to the lame Mike and Mike roast. ESPN desperately wants you to believe Greenberg and Golic are big stars. They’re not. If they were, they wouldn’t have an F-list celebrity/assclown like Jacobson roasting them.

He went on to say:

The next time Greenberg or Golic say something insightful or provocative will be the first time.

Damn.  No disagreement here.  Mike and Mike are about as entertaining as spending four hours getting your nose-hairs plucked.  If you wanted to give ESPN an enema the Mike and Mike show would be where you would stick the tube.

One lady journalist wants to lynch Tiger Woods and now this:

Apparently Dana Jacobson went too far at a roast of Mike and Mike, and said a bunch of things that offended alot of people, but mainly Catholics and Charlie Weis.  According to the Chicago Tribune:

At the roast, Jacobson made a rambling speech that included vulgar references about Notre Dame. Jacobson is a Michigan graduate, and she and Golic, a former Irish defensive lineman, often have exchanged barbs about the rivalry between the schools.

One eyewitness labeled it an “embarrassing display,” and a newspaper account said the crowd booed Jacobson. Notre Dame coach Charlie Weis also was in attendance.

How in the hell can you go too far at a roast?  Isn’t that what these things are for?  Just a licensed reason to go out and tell people all the things that you really wanted to tell them for years.  Except in jest ;).  You can say anything if your joking.  Let’s try it.  I wish you would die.  Just joking.  See how that worked.  Let’s try it again.  I hate you.  Just joking.  See jokes are funny.  And Notre Dame still sucks and Charlie Weis is still fat. Not joking.
