Well, I guess this proves it.
El Tigre is human after all. He has a bum knee. Tiger Woods is going to have arthroscopic surgery on his knee, a knee that has given him past troubles, and he will miss four-six weeks of golf time because of the injury. According to Reuters:
His rehabilitation time will prevent his title defense at the May 1-4 Wachovia Championship, and probably also his scheduled appearance at the prestigious Players Championship the following week.
“I made the decision to deal with the pain and schedule the surgery for after the Masters,” Woods said on his official Web site (www.tigerwoods.com).
The PGA has got to love that news about Tiger; because I bet that they just heard the same sound that I just heard. It was the sound of Tivos and DVRs everywhere having all scheduled golf recordings cancelled for the next six weeks.
Well we’ll follow up that Carmelo post up with another Carmelo post, but this one will come from your Site of The NIght, which is The Big Lead, and they wonder why ESPN isn’t making Melo’s arrest into that big of a deal. I wonder if this could be some kind of reverse East Coast bias, where ESPN not only ignores the good things that happen on the West Coast, but they ignore the bad things as well. Just a thought.
That’s it for tonight folks, I’ve got to go play strip putt-putt with Nancy:
To quote Eldric: “The course looks good, my stroke feels good, I like my chances.”
Masters’ winner Trevor Immelman gives his top ten list on The Late Show With David Letterman.
Boy, Immelman only looked very uncomfortable. You can always tell the guys who don’t win much, because they always look like they are expecting someone to come up and tell them that they need to move.
Trevor Immelman showed everyone that for this one weekend, it was he and not Tiger Woods who was the most dominant golfer in the world. Immelman controlled the lead all weekend and finished with a -8, forcing Tiger to do something that he hates to do; finish second. Tiger ended with a -5 and a second place finish at one of the biggest tournaments of the year, and we’re left talking about what went wrong. Damn, he’s set the bar high. But enough Tiger talk. I know jack about golf, so I’m just going to post some vids and you can feel free to push the button and entertain yourself with those…after the jump: (more…)
