Gina Carano Is A Hot Piece Of Kick Your A$$

May 14, 2008 By: rock Category: Hotties, Rants, Women In Sports 2 Comments →

Yeah, she’s hot.

And yeah, she would rip your head off, show it to her girlfriends, and then giggle that she thought it would be bigger. Your head that is.

And even though it’s kind of tough to take someone who fought as Crush on “American Gladiators” seriously as a fighter; Gina Carano holds a 5-0 record since debuting in June 2006 and will take on Kaitlin Young at CBS’s Elite XC card on May 31.

I respect the hell out of a woman who could kill me with her looks or her bare hands.

For all the guys that ever looked at Danica Patrick and said “I’d hit that”, you should watch this video and remember that she hits back.

Julia Mancuso Is Now A Surfer

Okay I’m not going to lie, I had no idea who Julia Mancuso was before seeing this video, and to be honest I still don’t, because I just had to deal with one very sad fact about myself. I am totally incapable of not staring at a nice set of boobs for any amount of time. I’m sorry women, I respect the hell out of all of you, but throw a great set of breasts in front of me and I turn into Rain Man. “The boobs, definitely the boobs”. Ms. Mancuso is not even overly-attractive (I don’t think, I mean, I looked at her face like once), and I was enthralled by her buxomness. I’m sorry women, if you ever meet me you have every right to call me a vain, sexist, looks-oriented piece of crap. Just please don’t kick me in the balls again. Please.

Auriemma Says Summitt, “Doesn’t Have Courage”

April 24, 2008 By: rock Category: Rants, Women In Sports No Comments →

Who said women’s basketball wasn’t physical?

Continuing the tired story of why the Tennessee/Connecticut series was canceled by Tennessee, UConn Coach Geno Auriemma said that Pat Summitt knows why the series was canceled and said that she “doesn’t have the courage to say it publicly.”.

“Yawn”.

These two fight like my mom and dad used to when bill-paying time came around. Somebody needs to tell Geno that it’s no big secret around Knoxville as to why the series got canceled. You’re a cheat:

UConn officials said in March they self-reported a secondary violation of NCAA rules in connection with a 2005 ESPN studio tour that the women’s basketball office arranged for then-top recruit Maya Moore.

There have also been all kinds of “rumors” about UConn putting Moore’s mom up in a home/condo and giving her a job, but all that is just that, rumors.  In spite of that, I for one was against the cancellation of the series, as there is not a comparable game in women’s basketball in terms of mass appeal, and as a sport that consistently loses money at most of it’s programs, the game needs all of the media attention and money that it can get and the game was bigger than either of these two programs.

I still think they should settle things the way that God and Dana White intended.

In the cage.

Either that, or they need to just get it on and get it over with.

Lady Vols Win NCAA Women’s Championship

April 08, 2008 By: rock Category: Women In Sports No Comments →

Eight is alot; and I don’t care what the game is.  Winning that many championships is impressive. and that is just what Pat Summitt and the Tennessee Lady Volunteers did Tuesday night; as they brought home the eighth women’s championship in school history, and made it look easy in the process, closing the tourney down with a 64-48 victory over Stanford; a team that had beaten the Lady Vols earlier in the year.

Playing with a hurt (dislocated) shoulder, Candace Parker scored 17 points, and helped lead the Vols to their second straight NCAA Women’s Championship.  Tomorrow Candace will go on to that league who no one watches and will be the number one pick in their draft, but make no mistake about it, the last two years have been the most successful ones of her basketball career.  She could go on to win five or six WNBA Championships, but these are the two that peeps will remember.

It’s been a pleasure watching Candace over the years. Especially, from a male perspective, as over her three years in college. she has gone from being rather plain and ordinary-looking, to “Damn, did you see her!”.  Congrats ladies.
